Usborne Revival
Classic game-programming books from Usborne Publishing (the 1980s) — modernised in C#, Python and Java.
The originals were written for the ZX-81, BBC Micro and Commodore 64. This project preserves the games and their history, but replaces BASIC with modern programming languages.
Perfect for beginners who want to code real games and, at the same time, get a feel for what programming was like back in the day.
The books
| Book | Games |
|---|---|
| Computer Battlegames | 13 games |
| Computer Spacegames | 12 games |
| Computer Spy Games | 7 games |
| Creepy Computer Games | 8 games |
| Weird Computer Games | 6 games |
About the project
Original books by Usborne Publishing. Modernisation and code conversion by Marcus Ackre Medina.
Every game includes:
- The story — the narrative from the original book
- Pseudocode — the logic described in plain language
- C# code — a modern implementation (and often Python/Java)
